Influence of heredity and hormones in human behavior
Introduction
Human behavior varies from one individual to another. The tendency to commit crimes, be more aggressive or to be more intelligent are all indicators of human behavior. Biologically speaking, the results of behavior are the direct result of hormones and genes. The relationship between these two aspects are examined below.
A contrast between the role of heredity and hormones
Although hormones have a clearly defined role, Throughout life, genes that affect heredity, are sensitive to environment and its role clearly the changes in the environment. Note that inheritance is not a kind of puppeteer holding the strings and control the environment. In fact, genes change or evolve in line with the environment that explains why things such as mutations and variations occur. By contrast, hormones are very specific in nature, their presence or absence may change, but their role remains invariably the same. As to this argument, the environment affects the concentration or secretion of hormones. However, the availability and inheritance genes therefore occurs independently of this. It should be noted that the environment in this case concerns mainly the internal body and external. This sensitivity to environmental changes forms the backbone of the "principle of feedback mechanism. When the body has been subjected to a situation unusual that stimulates fear in the object, then the brain hormone is stimulated to produce adrenaline. In regard to the above argument, we can change the way hormones affect general behavior, because its concentration varies from time to time. It is not possible in the inheritance because the genes are unchanged. Example, we can take contraceptives to suppress the action of reproductive hormones such as progesterone. This in turn affects the overall behavior the individual, either because they are pregnant or not. It also showed that exercise, a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle greatly contribute to the secretion of certain hormones prolong life. These healthy subjects are more likely to describe the characteristics of positive behavior such as mood swings less. Therefore, it is can control the effect that hormones have on the human body, but it is possible that the genes.
Therefore, hormone levels are largely determined by their environment, but this does not happen in genetics and heredity. One born with the gene for albinism or not, and this can be modified by drugs, exercise or any other factor content. Moreover, if one is born with the extra chromosome responsible for Down syndrome, so it must remain so throughout their lives regardless of the positive environment around them.
Comparison of heredity and hormones
When we talk about inheritance, which are basically talking about the genes or genetic because genes are the basic tools of the organic charge transfer the man from father to son. Therefore, all major issues and disputes related to genetics applies to inheritance, one example is the controversy innate nature. Some people argue that nature itself is the determinant important characteristics of an individual. These researchers maintain our ability to learn, control our mood or the direction is largely determined by a genetic program that has nothing to do with what surrounds us. Therefore, inheritance is the background behind the "natural" part of this argument. On the other hand, others argue that our environment interactions involved affects our behavior. This argument is the backbone of the office learning theory. After analyzing this argument, we can see that heritage is part of the bigger picture. It provides the framework for the argument of the innate nature. However, the nature of things in terms of human behavior is only part of the estate alone. Hormones provide a mechanism to update some of these functions. Therefore, both hormones and heredity affects human behavior, but the heritage is the foundation and the hormones are structural components. (Al and Faraone, 1999)
Heredity and hormones are also very similar in terms of its influence on human behavior. Genes can affect other genes that affect behavior. In addition, hormones can be stimulated by hormones and others to have a global effect on behavior. For example, some genes are recessive (hidden) in the body while the women are dominant in man's body. This is due to the presence of Y chromosome in men activates these genes. These are called sex-linked genes. For example, the gene responsible for hair growth in the ears is common among men and inactive women. In the same way, Tropic hormones affect the production of endocrine hormones that influence the behavior
Conclusion
Influences of hormones and heredity in human behavior are similar in both form the backbone of the nature vs. nurture controversy, and both are affected by the other. However, both are different because the estate has not changed while the hormonal fluctuation from time to time depending on the external environment.
