After booking the concert
One of the most important things you can do for you and your group is to promote the concerts that book. After all, to make work together has been hard, now you have to focus on exposure. The only person that goes for you, is you. In the next few minutes, I'll give some tips on how to market and promote after coming to the concerts.
The first place where you can write to the site, after looking for concerts, are the means. Start on the radio. Phone or fax all relevant radio stations in the city, let them know when booking gigs and ask them what they can do to help you promote. You never know, who want to make a quick point or an interview at his broadcaster.
Then call all publications of the city when it is concerts. Send to a press kit and let them know where they are performing. Have put it on your calendar or somewhere in your music section of your publication. Has a video? Submit your video or local television stations and see if they will play some extra time for an exhibition. The worst you can do is say no.
Hit up your local campus of the School of leaflets and posters. Hang in the student union or any other place with a table set out. Posters throughout the city, cafe, library, or any other appropriate place.
Then Spread the word. Word of mouth advertising is free and can do wonders when free concerts. Tell all you know about this. Ask your friends to go and posters. If some friends tell some friends and then say, and so on …
Publish your page Myspace. In fact, you should have a calendar on your page so that you can easily publish when, where and what time is the concert. Never underestimate the power of MySpace, when it comes to promoting their programs, when you book concerts.
If you have another MySpace site for his band, then you should find a newsletter sort of agreement in their group and its concerts. Send to wherever you have a new show booked. When people go to your website then can choose their list email and email marketing can be used as promotional tool. Try to include some useful information in its newsletter to keep your readers interested.
Finally, it has products to sell if you concerts. Every time the book concert or a play in one place is an opportunity to save you some money and sell their music. They have a few t-shirts made up, do a few CDs, seek the help of an artist friend, design a poster for you and then get printed. You may have to give up some money, but if your music is good, then you should get a return on your investment each time concerts book.
